So what? I must admit, that I can't get it. If I buy i.e. OpenBase
and I've got 10 users connected to it through REALbasic Client and
then some web-users should connect, guess what happens, you'll need
to buy the bigger version. Same for other licence-seats-based
databases and even application-servers or deployment systems (i.e.
Omnis Studio).
IMHO the unlimited Version of VServer Office is really cheap or
better worth the money! Compare it to other vendors and you'll see
the almost any of them requested much, much money for support! For
Valentina there is this list and Ruslan and Ivan and ... and I need
to buy the licence.
If we are talking about a solution and users and licences then I
think the customer used the app and the database as a tool to earn
some money, they're probably not a NGO? So if they want professional
software, than they need to spend money on it.
IMHO the new community server is a nice offer, especially when it
comes to this typically presentations where management asks about
technology they read in the morning papers ;-) But of course there
are several more benefits. I only need to maintain ONE software for
every needs, doesn't matter if this is a RB-app for a small company,
or a community site using Linux and PHP. I can exchange db-design
between both "platforms", ... Furthermore when I compare my solutions
running on Valentina to my solution running on mySQL then I find a
further argument, why this offer is really cool: SPEED!
Btw. - now I'm not paid by Valentina marketing ;-)
