In fact I do not see huge problems on adoption state.
Developer can SIMPLY do "Find/Replace All:
SqlSelect( query )
On
SqlSeelct( query, kServer, kNoLock )
And in few seconds (never mind how big your project is)
You get THE SAME by functionality code.
