Storing Image Data

Hi Trixi,

Thanks for your input. I will do some testing with the blob field also. I’ve always used a blob field with other databases.

I was wondering if one might compress better than the others or lessen the risk of corruption.

Best Regards,
Johnny

Hi,

what’s wrong with blobs?

When I read

http://www.valentina-db.com/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=valentina:products:adk:api:vpicture_class:vpicture_class

I would say that blobs sound far better. Picts are long dead on the Mac.

I'm looking at storing a large amount of images in VServer. I'm wondering if it would be best to store them as a string in a VText field or use the VPicture field.

Would anyone have any advice on storing images?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen/Regards
