Remind please: 
  he can open DB by your app or by vstudio?

* if you think it is not a path, then also try copy that Mail Archive.vdb
 into other folder with same name and try open

* try NOT make a copy, but just change name of this "Mail Archive.vdb"

* may be happens that NAME of this db contains some special chars which are
not visible ?   So that user just try change name to
  "bbb"  then back to  " Mail Archive.vdb"

 not using copy-paste!!!! But typing each letter
