Location for journal file

Would that be too much of an issue for Valentina to first check 
whether the file exists next to db and then in the app support 
folder? Then, unless developer sets otherwise, Valentina would create 
that file next to db.

That would make those who wants it visible and those who want it away 
from user happy and without much effort.
