Reindexing corrupts my database

Yes, there are various searches that come up empty after the reindex.  After I ran my utility to dump and reload the data, the searches were good, but after reindex, the searches failed.   The SQL is good.  I can get good results with some queries, but changing to certain key values will fail.

I have tested the same database using VStudio 4 and all is good.  But, upgrading is not an option for me.
