Getting out...

Ruslan, this is exactly the kind of stuff that has driven me away. We
went through this IN DETAIL, step by step. I'm not just some idiot
that can't launch a service via Terminal. Once again you have missed
the point and ignored the circumstances behind all this.

So I will detail it out AGAIN here. The problem first came about
because we needed to change licenses on VServer WITHOUT restarting the
server. Our server is remote to our development machine. The only
way to do this was to stop the server with VStudio, which DIDN'T
WORK. That problem was eventually fixed in VStudio but by this point,
we had resorted to stopping VServer with Activity Viewer.

The first time we tried to "conveniently" restart the process by
double-clicking on the so-called "application" that the VServer would
launch, but become unresponsive a few seconds later. Quitting the
unresponsive process and subsequently trying to launch it via the
Terminal would yield the same result, unresponsive VServer. The ONLY
solution at that point was to reboot the machine.

So what started the whole "application bundle" thing was:

1. You said that it was the "wrong" way to launch the server.
2. By double-click launching, it broke the server causing it to have
to be rebooted.
3. My belief was that a double-clickable app, to be Mac compatible,
should launch the VServer, right or wrong shouldn't be an issue.

I just tried it again, and have CONFIRMED the results. VServer will
become unresponsive if started after a double-click on the app, and
nothing will make it run except a reboot.

So, in case you've missed my points:

1. I have a legitimate need to start and stop the server without
rebooting.
2. A double-clickable app on a Mac should launch the VServer, right or
wrong, period. If you don't want people to launch VServer that way,
don't bundle it in an app. It's "wrong" use of an app bundle, to use
your word.
3. Double-clicking the VServer app hoses our server.
