VStudio 3.02 convert_1_2 lost data

I've been working for a couple of weeks getting my aging Valentina code and Valentina data able to work with current versions of Valentina.

I just discovered that the Convert_1_2 operation looses data the was good in my vserver 2.01 database file.

The field is type Text, originally identified as ASCII. After conversion it is encoded as UTF-16.

The field contains a series of CStrings. This worked properly in the 2.01 version of vserver.

After conversion, the only data that remains are the characters preceeding the first null character.

Have I misused the Text field? Shouldn't it be able to hold a chr(0) character?
