Valentina 2 for Director vs Valentina 1

I am authoring in Director MX 2004 for Windows and need to update the
content of the project. The Director script (lingo) and the database
instructions were all built using Valentina 1.8.7 or Valentina 1.9.0 using
Director 8.5. I have questions:

1. When I publish Director projector Valentina does not work reliably. Works
OK on some computers and not on others. All are WINXP SP2. On some computers
it will not recognize the user when they log back in. On other systems it
will not always export the data as requested. Is this a Director or
Valentina problem?

2. If I must convert to Valentina 2 do I need to rewrite all of the lingo
that is used to query and build the database?

3. I understand there is a conversion tool. Does it only convert the
Valentina data or does it also update the lingo? How reliable is it?

4. Is there a list of which handlers changed from Valentina 1 to Valentina 2
and samples of how to implement the changes?
