[STUDIO] Change field length

I have a field that is a VarChar field of 7000 in length (Valentina  
version 1). When I use Studfio to convert it to version 2, it is  
truncated to 2044. If I try to change it back to 7000, Studio  
wouldn't do it. Some of the field attributes will change such as the  
field type, but even as a String or Text, I can't reset the field  
length.

So I have two questions:

1. Why is it truncated?

2. Why can't I change the length?
