Ok, trying to operate using vStudio.

1. The database has 1149 records.  - YES
2. One record has a value of 1 in the field DIFFICULTY.   - NO
3. 1148  have  the  value  of  5  in the field DIFFICULTY. - NO - all
records has 5 as DIFFICULTY value.


I  assume  you  just  make  some  update  for single record and playing with
it?

Well, I have changed some single record to be the same as you wrote.

Now,

select * from FLASH where DIFFICULTY between 1 and 5    -- find 1149
records. Correct!

select * from FLASH where DIFFICULTY between 1 and 4    -- find 1 record.
Correct!

select * from FLASH where DIFFICULTY between 2 and 5    -- find 1148
records. Correct!
