Hi Justin,

I afraid this will be not possible for 1.x .

This feature is asked periodically.
Once I have told that in 2.0 I want redesign Task Manager,
And provide API to access it.

You should be able 
-- ask Task Manager how many tasks are executed,
-- their names
-- Their percent of completeness.
-- cancel task
    
So you should be able create nice window with few progress bar for user
control.
