Openbase now offers a developer license that will allow for distribution of
a single connection database for about $300.  They are seeing a need to
supply small developers with a full feature database.  My guess is that they
are hoping when the project grows or the developer business grows they will
use the full price Openbase databases.

I saw this as Openbase trying to compete with Valentina and similar
databases that are priced at a level that make them attractive to the small
developer.
