Setting system date to yyyy-mm-dd permanently

I just noticed something that appears to be the source of many of my crashes
and want to know if anyone else has had this problem or knows the solution.
I am on Mac OS and have a custom system date set to yyyy-mm-dd

I use studio and everytime I open it the date gets set back to the format
mm/dd/yy which is the U.S. normal and not how I have the system date set on
my computer. So I reset the date to yyyy-mm-dd using the GUI interface on
Valentina Studio and things are okay until the next time I open the
database.

How do I get the database to permanently stay as yyyy-mm-dd? Perhaps the GUI
interface on Valentina Studio isn't setting it properly and I have to use a
SQL command? If that is the case then this is a bug I should report.

Thanks

Bill
