I am using 8.02. Never had any other problem like this related to 
stuffit.

I did some further investigation. I ran the app in GDB and this is what 
I got.

(gdb) run
Starting program: /Users/kevin/Desktop/Valentina 
Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/Valentina Studio
tcsh: /Users/kevin/Desktop/Valentina 
Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/Valentina Studio: Permission denied.

Looking at the permissions on Valentina 
Studio.app/Contents/MacOS/Valentina Studio I see that I have read/write 
but no execute. So I did a chmod u+x and it works now.

Maybe the distribution format should change to a .dmg on Mac, or a 
.dmg.sit. My stuffit is up to date (latest version of 8), and this 
problem I think has been mentioned before, and it doesn't seem to be 
getting any better.
