what version of Stuffit are you using? There are versions around which 
causes such problems.
Please download the latest Stuffit and try again. At least the 
Application MUST start.

Another thing to try:
When you look INTO the application package you will find a folder 
called "Plugins".
Just move all files out of this folder to a safe place and try to start 
then. If this
will work then you can drop the files back ONE by ONE to see which 
plugin causes
a problem.
