YES.

** if DB is closed normally THEN .journal file is deleted from HDD.

** if DB was not closed normally THEN journal stay near to db.
 so on next db.open engine see this fact and

  ** checks header of journal
    if it see not finished transaction then it do automatic
    recover of db to latest good state.
