Preliminary Conclusions

V5 b20 For Windows and COM

 

VStudio

+ Great plus: no more incomplete and wrong German translation!

+ Old ADK serial still works!

- VDB files wouldn't be registered by installer as VStudio-Files (cannot
double click on VDB, no icon.)

- OK button of registering dialog was disabled by default

 

SQL

+ Very slow CLONE was fixed (not yet released)

- BACKUP DATABASE TO 'folder' should copy files into 'folder' and not create
in 'folder' a new folder with time stamp:

 

BACKUP DATABASE TO 'c:\\backup' results in files in:

c:\backup\20120405_140953\dmxp_db.vdv.

But I hoped for:

               c:\backup\dmxp_db.vdb.

 

VCOM 

- Doesn't work at all (tested with VB6/SP6 and Valentina samples). Crash in
design- and runtime at Valentina.Init -  no error

 

VServer

- No free 5 user license file in installation

- After DROP CONNECTIONS OF DATABASE db, files are still open (under
investigation)
