How 2.5.2 and 2.5.3 works in regard of corruptions ?

I found it's not related to crash but seem to do with the file VS save when
Diagnose find error, it writes strange chars to report window and generated
file (containing same I assume) cannot be opened, but can be deleted. So
it's not locked, it's not a valid (Win) file - can it be VS write Mac by
mistake). I have included this in #2148 as I think it's result of this bug.
