We do hand in a password to the vserver, it just the same for everyone. Its the embedded server as well so we hand in the same special code as well. We could hide the password in a preferences I suppose.<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">

I didn't think it was possible to log in to vServer without a password being set. My app is in liveCode and it automatically logs the user in and the password is in preferences so the user is never bothered with it.<div>

A password does not work for our purposes. We want multiple applications on the same machine connecting to the service, but not the same applications on other machines. Forcing the user to pick a password and log-in is something we would prefer not to do. A firewall does prevent other users from getting to the service, but we are trying to target a lower end user who does not necessarily know how to configure firewalls.<div>
