Channels are implemented in development branch.

Will be available I think in about 1-2 months,
when we will make 
      branhc_6.0  and we will start 6.0 beta builds.


About  not responding ... You mean progress bar in Xojo ?
I think we many times discussed this trouble comes from cooperative
threading of Xojo.

We planning implement and also many was made in engine and VSERVER,
  to have TaskManager which keep list of current parallel tasks.
    and must be API and SQL commands to ask such list with progress of
each.,

MAY BE using this mechanism, will be possible show progress dialog, which is
independent from task itself, but monitors it ...
