I don't think so. Valentina apps are the only apps that I use that put
their log files in my Application folder on OS X.

If I open OS X's Console app up it shows there are three location for log files:

~/Library/Logs
/Library/Logs
/var/Logs

DriveGenius, Carbon Copy Cloner, Garmin, Onyx, RunRev and a bunch of
others all have their log files in my ~/Library/Logs.

postgreSQL, Carbon Copy Cloner and others have log files in my
/Library/Log folder. Interestingly Carbon Copy Cloner appears to log
normal events in the ~/Library/Log folder whilst errors and other
misbehaving end up in the /Library/Log folder. Garmin on the other
hand has it's own Folder in ~/Library/Logs and inside that are some
files which report normal operation, and others which report errors.

Apache and mostly Apple stuff have files in the /var/Log folder.

In my case I even have a V4REV Installer log file in my ~/Library/Log
folder, but that would be there because I moved it there because the
Application Folder is for Applications, not Log files. The nice thing
about it being there, apart from keeping my Application folder neat
and tidy, is that the Console app can easily access it a read it. The
Console app is designed to read Log files, it's the first place I go,
I don't need to use Spotlight, I don't need to traverse my Folder
structure, they are all just there - at least the ones that bother to
put the files in the correct location. Also Console provides a
convenient way to Trash old log files, although Utilities such as Onyx
provide an even more convenient way to clean out old log files, but
again, this only works if they are in the Log Folders.

I don't know about other OSs, but for OS X it is clearly intended that
the Log folders are the place to put Log files.
