Cool info ...  I have hear last time about 150 users in such way.
But that was yet about 6-8 years ago.

May be you can make for us small history (5-15 lines of text), that describe
this scenario?  Mentions hardware used for "central" computer, network
architecture (local net or internet)?  Average Load of your db?  E.g. How
often users try to connect ...

I think this will be interesting to hear for others.
