Mac ini not respecting the SystemCatalog

Ivan,

We changed the permissions on the db folder and it worked.   Thank you.

We did however discover something weird:

SystemCatalog=/Users/johndoe/dbtest works.
SystemCatalog=/Users/johndoe/Desktop/dbtest does not.

Is there something special about Desktop?  Or does the entire path of
folders need certain permissions?
