Picture quality not applied

I save JPG pictures with the API call myPict.WritePictureAs(Pict,kJPG,q) in
VB6 (Valentina COM 4.6)

 

Pict is a StdPicture. What value for q (50-100) I ever use, the resulting
picture quality is always the same. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?
