Mac problem - memory leak?

Hello,

I have an application that runs fine on a PC but on the Mac it crashes
during database interaction. However, once it crashes and I restart the
mac, when I run the application again, it runs fine this time. I have
looked at the code and there is nothing I can see that would lead to
such behaviour on the Mac.

Here is my theory: I wonder if there is some kind of memory leak
somewhere and that gets reset once I restart the Mac and only then are
there enough resources to make it through. I am not a Mac expert so
could be wrong.

Can anyone please shed some light on it? What is the issue here and how
do I fix it?
