import tab del data using vStudio for office server

Using vStudio Pro 4.0 build Dec 17 2008 12:49:13 on Mac os 10.4.11
1. the server is on and the database is open and vstudio asks for you to
open a database. If you ask for the database that the server is using you
get an error and it won't do it. Is this expected behavior? You can't use
any of vStudio's import functions when using office server?

2. I make a copy of the database file. Server is still open. Copy has the
same name. This works. Records were imported.

3. I have to close everything accessing the datafile in office server and
then copy the new version back there.

4. Then I check to see how the import was.

5. I don't like this...

Is this a bug I should report to Mantis or am I doing something wrong?
