Import data - problems

Hi Greg,

Any DB import will have its own issues.

MSAccess, SQL, etc will do the same.
i.e. gives errors for fields it can't define.

And doubles the frustration when learning a new DB as well.

One of the responses here was to just make everything text fields.
Then run update queries to fix.

With deductive reasoning:
Just import one record.
Errors.
Just import half the fields until you identify which field.
Fix that field and any others like it.
Go from there.
Etc

Date formats are wrong.
Numeric fields are wrong.
Etc.

Using Valentina Studio Pro
Create a new table yourself with the datatypes.
Enter data by hand.
View the data and see the format.

The latest n greatest is Valentina Studio Pro 4.2
which I believe Paradigma is offering a free license to the end of the year.

The official support for Valentina is minimal at best.
Has been for years.
The documentation is hard to follow.
The speed is absolutely blinding.
It's getting better all the time.

Subject: Quitting is becoming terminal.

Hi,

Valentina is quitting on almost all import attempts. I have:

1. Deleted Valentina prefs.
2. Reinstalled Valentina.
3. Restarted my Mac.
4. Created a new database and table.

But it still quits on import of 55,000 records - if I can't fix this,
it has to be goodbye to Valentina.

Cheers
