this build works fine, however the console reports this message on the  
line [mDatabase create:dbPath mode:EVDbMode_kDsc_Dat_Blb_Ind];

API_Link_Binary.vdb  ERROR = -43
has sufix in
filename = API_Link_Binary.vdb
parentDirectory = /Developer/Vale/V4CC_4/Examples/build/Debug (Native)

I also get this warning from the compiler:

Sorry to be so pedantic, but all this Cocoa stuff is plenty new for  
me... just trying to understand ;-)

BTW I'm looking at this Core Data thing, is there any way to use Vale  
as a store for it?
