valentina init ram memory limits

Hello all:

My database is 2.8 gig on the hard drive and I am using Valentina for  
Cocoa.

I have a machine with 10 gigs of ram.

I am wondering how much ram I should assign in Valentina init.

If I can assign enough ram to hold the whole database, I might as well  
do so for fastest operation, right?

Or should I assign even more than the size of my database?
