strange problems with joins and IN (3.5.2b15)

It seems that is was an error on my part : one of the fields involved
in the join was of type byte, the other long. Corrected it to both
be of type byte and the error is gone. 

I thought I had corrected that design flaw in a previous version of my
DB, but after restoring my DB from a sql dump of an older, that has crept
back in.

Btw, is it normal that when you do an sql dump, identity fields get a 
'method(RecId)' into the create table statement, but upon restoring that
sql dump, it fails on those tables until you manually remove those
'method(recid)'.
When they are removed from the sql statements, the tables and fields are
correctly restored, including the method that is to be the Identity field.
