getting started using Valentina

I'm having trouble getting started using Valentina v2 with Revolution
v2.8.1 on Mac OS10.4.10. I have tried several installations, so I now
have various files scattered all over my drive. I followed the
following advice:

 > 1. put folder dbvalentina2 into Database Drivers folder
 > which is located in my externals folder.
 >
 > 2. added the line Valentina2,dbvalentina2 to the text file
 > Database Drivers.txt which is in my Database Drivers folder.

When I relaunched Revolution, I created a new stack, added a field,
and used Database Query Builder to establish a connection, which
seemed to be successful. When I tried to switch to Record Set though,
Revolution crashed.

I'm not quite sure I have a good installation or what to try next.

TestProject reports all but one test passes (it does not seem to
report which one failed).

I wish I had some better documentation to work with. I need to know
what files I need in the development environment and what files I
need for distribution with my application. Also, I have yet to figure
out if I need to purchase extra copies to distribute or if there is
no charge for including Valentina with my programs.

In the online documentation in the section on Setting up External
References it says to set the externals of this stack to "V4REV_2
\V4REV_win.dll" &cr& "V4REV_2/V4REV_Macho" but I do not find either
of these files on my computer. Is this for a newer version? Is there
some other documentation I should be working with?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
