SQL Editor must creat new tab to execute again

Hi all,

When I create a SQL statement using the SQL Editor tab:

Select name from employees

I execute it 
And all name fields are returned successfully.

But if I change it to Select Name from employees where Name = "Barry"

I execute it.
But the sql statement changes back.

Is there a work around for this other than having to continually create new
sql editor tabs?
i.e. a tick box some where to turn this off or on?
