Server OS for Valentina Server

I'm just a real shiny newbie who needs some very basic help getting started
- like knowing if I need to have the Valentina Server loaded onto a Mac
server to use it.  The last time I used a database app was back in 1987
using Reflex for the Mac.  Now, I have Revolution and Valentina... Jim
