Well, 

Ivan have check e.g. MS SQL.
So they extend standard for DEFAULT VALUE to accept EXPR
While standard allow accept only CONSTANT.

This means that if you in your project make
    
    fld ... DEFAULT VALUE now()

Then you become non-SQL92 compliant, and this may not work in other dbs
