VStudio corruption on close

I was surprised to discover that closing VStudio 2.4.3 with the "X" close button
(top right) with a database "open" results in a corruption of the database as
follows:

2:34:56 PM: File
..\..\..\sources\VStudio\Plugins\Valentina_2\vsV2_TableCursor.cpp, Line 206
2:34:56 PM: Kernel error: 0x9952b
2:34:56 PM: Segment "112" is wrong. The last segment is "111".

(WinXP)

Shouldn't VStudio "play nice" in this case? Do I really have to manually close
the database before quitting the program? Has this been fixed in a newer
version?
