Do you attach to Valentina Server?
If yes you need to use db.IOEncoding() make search "IOEncoding" in this list
archive.

Christian, so you have problems with accents even on local V4MD... Hmm.
Did you specify for DB Locale to be DE_de ?

May be problem in FONT used in Director?
