Typecasting in sql

Hi List,

I'm looking on how a method would need to look where Field A  
(varchar) + Field B (integer) + Field C (varchar) = my uniqueconstraint

Otherwise said how can I typecast an integer field to a varchar so  
concat will work in a methodfield.

Look around on the wiki but failed to find something.
Maybe I saw a few days ago something with ::

A little example would be nice
