Versions 1 and 2 co-existing

Not sure I understand the question.

The application I'm talking about is On-Target Reports. It has
support for a range of backend databases, one of which is Valentina.
The Editor portion allows an end-user to create reports using a
selected database as the datasource. If I can't reference both
version 1 and version 2 Rb plugins in a single application, it would
mean that a user whose backend database is a Valentina version 1
database would not be able to update/upgrade to a newer version of On-
Target Reports if I were to utilize the version 2 plugin in the
application.

I'm operating under the assumption that the person creating the
reports may not be the person controlling the database, and therefore
may not be able to update the database.

I'm facing the same issue with support for the old REALdatabase, and
may, in fact, have to simply drop that support and tell users they
will have to update their database in order to use the more current
versions of On-Target Reports.
