[V4MD] converting a project to 2.3

We need to update a project done 2 years ago to get it working cross 
platform, i.e. use a PC based server for Mac clients, too.

I assume we need to convert our databases to version 2.3 first and 
that's where the trouble starts.

I have downloaded the 2.3 release of V4MD and tried to convert the 
database but I only get crashes, no matter if I try it with V4MD or 
with Studio version 2.3.2.
I have diagnosed the database with Studio 1.10 and it says "OK, no errors".

System: OS X, Tiger running on G4
Director: Version MX
Xtra: V4MD_Carbon.xtra version 2.3

Any ideas?
