VStudio doesn't open databases with file names > 32 characters

I¹\ve just spent a while trying to diagnose what was wrong with my database,
to find out why it wouldn¹t open in Vstudio 2.3.2 on Mac OS 10.4.7. Turns
out that Vstudio won¹t open the database if the filename is longer than 32
characters.  If the filename is too long, I get the following error:

Kernel error: 0x59502

Is this a known issue?  The database works fine with V4RB.  Also, the error
isn¹t very helpful!
