V4MD OpenDatabase() question

I am not using V4MD as a server application, but it is entirely possible 
that a customer might create a database in a public folder on a network 
drive.  In the event that one user already has a Valentina db open, when 
a second user goes to open it, there doesn't appear to be an obvious way 
to know this.  The problem is that the OpenDatabase() comman does not 
fail or return any error, even though the db has not been sucessfully 
opened!

So, what might you recommend as a way to know if the OpenDatabase 
command has failed?
