Hmm, please try 

  call file_table.CreateBLOBField( "file",  8 * 1024 )

Or 16 Kb


So how file differ? It have the same size but differ internally?
Or size also is other?

Can you try other files? Smaller? E.g
    20 Kb
    100 Kb
