Not much. Maximum 2 times.
Because size of files can be 2 times less.

But PLUS overhead on encoding conversions.

Also if you have many numeric fields, you not win.
Size the same.

Depend how many data are in text fields and how many in numeric.

In Kem db of course obvious present a lots of text.
