There is some misunderstanding here. Both of the tables are in one database.
The master table ("Email") has VarChar, UShort and DateTime fields that are
indexed and quite fast for 41,000 records.

The related table ("MessageText") has a VText field that is indexed by words
and is slower to search. This table has about 57,000 records.

The uncompressed size of the database is 6.5 GB. Compressed with zip, it is
2.78 GB.
