RB QueryController & Valentina

Out of curiosity, does anyone have a tutorial that uses the SQL Data 
Control interface found in RB?

I've seen three tutorials on using Valentina with RB and not one of 
them uses that interface. Instead, they add additional buttons to go to 
next, previous, last, first records. Is there a reason they aren't 
using it? Something about Valentina that won't allow work with it?
