Hyperlink data is not preserved via RTF. Try it. And HTML hardly works at all -- 
formatting gets all off, fonts change, and hyperlinks go away.

I don't grasp your point here -- yes, it's putting binary into blob. Doesn't
BLOB stand for Binary Large Object?
