Can't create method

Exactly. I removed the kv_index and now it doesn't crash right away. 
I can add records. BUT, if I do a sql query ending in the words 
"ORDER BY authorEditorSortMethod" the database is trashed (I can no 
longer add or edit records without causing a crash on mycursor.update 
-- the cursor is not nil, BTW).

I've also tried creating the method as VText instead of VVarChar, but 
that didn't work either.
