Server license

In the documentation, it mentions that clients can connect using the
computer name as well.
This is less likely to change and can be retrieved using buddyAPI.

I've tried this using my local server name "kinetix-sbs.kinetix.office" but
it doesn't work.
I presume the computer name is what appears in the "My Computer" properties.

Any ideas?

Martin

Hi,

generally speaking, it is a good idea to use the MultiUser Xtra to get the
user's IP, because I doubt that most users actually know there IP or how to
look it up, especially if they're connected to a DHCP server or using a
dial-up connection, which gives them a different IP each time they connect.

Unfortunately, there's no internal way to get the IP address in Director,
but using the MU-Xtra is safe and a good way to go.

Martin.
