I also set the Date format after the database is open.

I will check this.
BTW, you also can easy check your db in Valentina Studio
To see that you have format 2
That Valentina Studio then correctly show dates in YMD
And that INSERT query do what you need.
Do you set date format to a database AFTER its open ?
